Fun Times at the May House

So we've recovered from Easter and moved straight into other exciting and chaotic adventures.

LJ is eating solids:) At dinnertime, each night, he is getting a vegetable. We are slowly working our way through the Gerber Baby 1st foods. Eventually, I am going to try and make my own baby food, since I've heard its better and cheaper, but at this point, I haven't even thought about trying to do that! So far he has enjoyed Sweet Potatoes, Peas, and Greenbeans. We have Butternut Squash, Bananas and Apples on the horizon:) So far LJ has enjoyed making a mess and trying to feed himself. It takes lots of strength to hold back his little arms as they try to grab the spoon and shove it into his mouth! The video camera is a mom & Kevin's so I will upload that video once I get it back.

We had an open house on Sunday. I busted my tail to make sure the house was as nice as possible. I mopped floors, cleaned the garage (well straightened since it is full of tubs, furniture baby and dog stuff). Unfortunately, the weather was cold and despite our realtor advertising, we had 1 person show. A total bummer, but I'm still keeping up hope for someone to buy it in a hurry and pay the asking price:)

Revolution has been in a series called "Rockstar: Making Him Famous" and they're prepping for the next series called "Prison Break" which is about breaking free of our past, addictions, etc. I'm really excited about this series because I think it deals with a topic everyone struggles with at one point or another.

After Easter I was working on an event for the High Museum of Art. It's the High's wine auction and it raises a ton of money for the museum. For the past two years I have been in charge of getting Empire's product to the event. It is a crazy time b/c we have a bunch of winemakers in town (there are dinners, trade events, consumer events, seminars) and we have to make sure that everything is as perfect as we can get it. Several of our wineries have large auction items up for bid and/or are sponsors.

I got to hang with Austin Hope of Austin Hope Winery & Treana Winery during the live auction and it was fun talking with him in the midst of auction lots being sold to the highest bidder for thousands of dollars. Our wineries had lots that went for $4000-$40,000. I can't imagine having that much money to bid on wine (although the $40000 lot was wine and I believe dinner for 12 in someone's house, prepared by the chef of one of our local restaurants). I only stayed for half of the auction so I'm sure that there were other items that went for even more. At the time I left over $500000 had already been raised! One of my friends took some pictures so I will post them once he sends them to me.
